Two Ways To Overcome Overwhelmed in 2018

“The goal is full sensory immersion, which does a few key things.  First, it clears my mental and emotional cache. But more important, it opens up what I can best describe as a channel of inner intelligence that I rarely, if ever, access through focused thinking. Without fail, I get some spontaneous download that leads to a clear plan of action to move ahead. For me, creativity lives in the body, not the mind.”

I was reading this passage recently and it captured well how I think about getting into a state of flow.  It’s through moving the body. I have experimented this year with very short 20-minute workouts this year when I am absolutely crunched for time.  It could be in my own living room, hotel room while traveling, gym in my condo building, or getting outside.

Many times when I have NO time I have made the decision to do 20 minutes of SOMETHING instead of NOTHING. My days are considerably better when I do this!

That could be:

  • Walking on a treadmill
  • Riding a stationary bike
  • Going for a walk outside
  • Climbing up and down a set of stairs
  • Push ups, sit ups, planks
  • Yoga motions/stretching

If you are not moving, you are missing out on tapping into the wellspring of creativity in the body.

I encourage you to make your plan for 2018!

How will you tap into your inner greatness by moving the body every single morning!?

Wishing you and your family and amazing 2018.
